STAFF PROFILES

JAMES R. DEVALOIS, CIH   PRESIDENT
James R. DeValois is the president of KEMWest, Inc. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Geophysical Engineering from Colorado School of Mines and has worked in the environmental industry since 1992. Mr. DeValois has been a part of the KEMWest team since 2002 and has been certified in the Comprehensive Practice of Industrial Hygiene by the American Board of Industrial Hygiene since 2003. James is also certified by the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment as a Project Designer, Building Inspector/Management Planner, and Air Monitoring Specialist. He specializes in fungal investigations and asbestos project management, as well as Indoor Air Quality and employee exposure monitoring. James is responsible for KEMWest's over-all customer satisfaction and performance and works primarily on business development and technical competency of our service. James is an avid home-brewer, a fair guitar player and a hack golfer.

ERIN SEDLACKO   VP and DIRECTOR OF OPERATIONS
Erin is Vice President and Director of Operations at KEMWest, Inc. Ms. Sedlacko holds a Master's Degree in Environmental Science and Engineering from Colorado School of Mines and studied Environmental and Plant Biology, and English Literature at Ohio University. She has been a part of the KEMWest team since 2003 and has been working in the environmental industry since 2000. Erin is certified as a Project Designer, Building Inspector, Air Monitoring Specialist, Mold Inspector, and Lead Inspector. She became a partner in the company in 2008 and specializes in project management, industrial hygiene, hazardous materials identification, and regulatory compliance, as well as overseeing the day to day operations at KEMWest and assuring the personal and professional quality of service our clients have come to expect. Always striving to remain on the cutting edge of industry trends, Ms. Sedlacko also works as a Research Associate in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the Colorado School of Mines. When she's not working, Erin can usually be found playing outside.

ANDREA BABER   OFFICE MANAGER
Andrea Baber is the office manager at KEMWest, Inc. and has been the eyes and ears behind the scenes since 1996. With over 20 years of experience in accounting, record keeping, administrative support, and office management, Ms. Baber manages, supports and oversees the staff and operations for the firm. Her diligence and resourcefulness keeps business running smoothly and strengthens client and vendor relationships. Andrea became a partner in the company in 2008 and has continued to expand her role as overseer of corporate accounts, personnel, accounting and office management. Andrea is the proud mother of a daughter and is involved with animal rescue and mentoring young students. In her off time, she enjoys target shooting and the outdoors.

WENDY DEVALOIS   PARTNER
Wendy DeValois has been partner at KEMWest, Inc. since 2012. Mrs. DeValois has a long history of extensive management experience and specializes in providing logistical support, office/staff management, property management, accounting, record keeping, administrative support, and problem solving for a variety of businesses, including domestic, international and government organizations. In her free time, Wendy enjoys serving her church, and working with non-profit organizations. Wendy has been married to her husband James since 1983 and together they have raised a daughter and son, who both served in the military, and are now enjoying their two granddaughters.

DAN PETERSEN   PROJECT MANAGER
Dan Petersen is the Project Manager at KEMWest, Inc. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Geology from Louisiana Tech University, College of Engineering. Dan has been part of the KEMWest team since 1999 and has been working in the environmental industry since 1990. Dan is a certified Project Designer, Building Inspector, Air Monitoring Specialist; EPA certified Universal Freon Technician and has 40 Hours of OSHA training for Hazardous Waste Operations. Dan specializes in asbestos project management and has extensive experience working on soils remediation projects. He is also experienced in identifying and disposing of regulated materials for building renovation and demolition projects. Dan is excited about the future use of remote sensing technology and is looking forward to the day when devices such as the Tricorder can be used to assist in asbestos, lead, and mold inspections. Outside of work, he spends time enjoying Colorado's mountain biking trials.

ZACH CASIAS   SOUTHERN COLORADO BRANCH MANAGER
Zach Casias has been the Southern Colorado Branch Manager of KEMWest for four years and has been in the environmental industry since 2007. Mr. Casias attended college at the University of Southern Colorado and holds certifications as a Project Designer, Air Monitoring Specialist, Building Inspector, Management Planner, Mold Inspector, and RRP for Lead paint. His duties include customer relations, scheduling, training, regulatory compliance, project management estimating, and managing the south office and its crew. When Zach isn't overseeing projects or taking samples in a crawlspace, you can usually find him fishing or hiking with his family.

HANNAH NAUTH   ENVIRONMENTAL SCIENTIST
Hannah is an Environmental Scientist at KEMWest. Ms. Nauth holds a Master's Degree in Conservation and Community Science from Miami University and a Bachelor's Degree in Biology from the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh. Ms. Nauth has been a part of the KEMWest team since 2020 but has been working in the field since 2017. Hannah is a certified building inspector and specializes in testing for asbestos, lead, and mold as well as performing indoor air and water quality testing. When she is not working, she can be found creating art, spending time with friends, or enjoying the outdoors.

VIOLA MANNING   ENVIRONMENTAL SPECIALIST
Viola has been a part of the KEMWest team since 2019 and has been working in the environmental industry since 2015. Mrs. Manning is certified as a Building Inspector, Air Monitoring Specialist, Mold Inspector, and is RRP Lead Certified. When she's not working, Viola can usually be found playing outside, riding bikes with her son, or cooking. One thing that Viola loves about what she does is the fact that she's able to travel and see so many beautiful sights. Demolition Inspections are her favorite.

BLAKE CREED   AIR MONITORING SPECIALIST
Blake Creed is KEMWest's newest certified Air Monitoring Specialist and has been performing final clearance and air monitoring services since 2020. His background in the environmental industry consists of over five years of experience as an asbestos supervisor, worker, and lead supervisor, and his continuing education to become a certified building inspector is underway. When he is not at work, Mr. Creed enjoys rock climbing and watching movies with his wife and three children.
